Prerna Foundation is an NGO in Shrirampur, Ahmednagar district in India directly benefitting many children and their families every year, through more than 25 live welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in over 50 remote villages and slums across 25 villages of Ahmednagar.
Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues - from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one's rights - and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen.
Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. But child education cannot be done in isolation. A child will go to school only if the family, particularly the mother, is assured of healthcare and empowered. Moreover, when an elder sibling is relevantly skilled to be employable and begins earning, the journey of empowerment continues beyond the present generation.
Chief Functionary
Prerna foundation is privileged to have a youthful, lively Dr. Prerna Shinde as its President. A doctor by vocation, she stepped into the lucrative medical sector. This multifaceted character brings in enormous, former experience and has been shouldering varied tasks viz. a flourishing gynaecologist, chairperson of Vidyaniketan Group of Schools, member of various elite bodies etc. She provides her leadership to the organization. Undeniably, it is hard to find a doctor venturing in the social sector. Having the brief in participatory approaches, the management of the organization, under her leadership, Prerna Foundation is moulded in the true spirit of voluntarism.
Dr. Prerna had some accolades for her yeoman service and grabbed many appreciations for her facility in the social welfare sector. She has compassion towards the sufferings of deprived and downtrodden sections of the society hence decided to support them with equity, justice and empowerment. The professional success did not blind her to the misery and agony of Indias poor, sick and powerless women. The overpowering inner urge to be of service to people who needed it most got the better of her and she founded the Prerna Foundation on 28th June 2018.

Dr. Rajeev has had a thriving medical practice, yet manages to be a fragment of the community. A trusted, proficient confidant and guide, many turn to him with their personal challenges. What people really want is not essentially a friend or an equal, but someone who really upkeeps, is humble and is down to earth. He is nifty but this doesn't necessarily mean book smart. Surely there exists an underpinning of knowledge that is essential, but emotional intelligence goes a much longer way in the long run. Dr. Rajeev's myriad contributions deserve rave appraisal.

Mr. Rohit Shinde has always been inspired by his parents who taught him to lend a helping hand to the destitute. Mr. Rohit Shinde studied at University of Pune's Sinhagad Technical Institute gaining an Engineering degree in Mechanical. Presently he is pursuing M.S. (Engineering Management) from N.E.U. Boston, USA. Rohit also has a keen curiosity in Financial and Investment Banking and has successfully cleared the CFA Level-I exam amongst top 10% in the world. He believes in the power of quality education for every child and is passionate about driving the Prerna Foundation's Vision.
"Although India endures to experience brain drain, I would like to donate towards the growth and sustenance of India through my intellectual capacity" - opines Rohit.

Miss. Rashmi Rajeev Shinde, granddaughter of Late. Adv. Raosaheb Shinde is a true successor of his prodigious legacy of social service and the champion of underprivileged and neglected individuals. She is pursuing Bachelor Degree in Textile Engineering at VJTI College, Mumbai. She is under inordinate influence of her parent's contribution towards society. It was her initiative to adopt the girl child's education in Vidyaniketan Group of Schools. She is a true ambassador of the Prime Minister's ambitious mission "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao".

Mr. Nana Wagh holds a Master's degree in Education and English. He has to his credit a multidimensional experience of 14 years in the field of education. His association with Quality Council of India's National Accreditation Board for Education and Training as an Assessor has won him accolades. A product of the elite 'Fergusson College' and 'Rayat Shikshan Sanstha', he has been influenced by many social reformers who inspired him to contribute towards the welfare of the society. He is determined to make this welfare journey with Prerna Foundation.
She is Doctor by profession. She has completed her studies from Ahmednagar Nomeopathic Medical College. She is into this profession for past 15 years. Having qualities of sincerity, honesty & kind heart she wins the love of all.
He possess the Bachalor & Master degrees in Economics. He has completed Ph.D. in Economics. He worked as a Professor from 1967 to 1992 in various colleges of 'Rayat Shikshan Sanstha'. 1993 to 2002 is his tenure of Principal in different colleges from same Organisation. He has two books 1. Micro Economics 2. Macro Economics. He is Secretary of 'Raosaheb Shinde Pratishthan' President of 'Maharashtra Educational Council' for shrirampur branch. He is life time member of Shrirampur Pensioner's Association. Founder President of 'Shivajinagar Development Board, Shrirampur'. Under the leadership of Adv. Raosaheb Shinde, he worked for the people of "Anandwan" Chandrapur. He has been awarded with Ideal Teacher Award by Zilla Parishad, Ahmednagar & Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. He has secured Pune University's National Service Scheme Award. He was selected for the training program of 'NUEPA'
